Full Description

Scope

This document provides human factors engineering guidance for the validation of the system interface design and the integrated systems operations. This guidance identifies general validation principles and provides acceptable means to:- Define methods- Plan and conduct validation activities- Conduct single or multi-staged validation

Purpose

The purpose of this document is to provide guidance that can be used by nuclear facility designers, applicants, licensees, architects/engineers, and regulators to establish reasonable confidence that a system can be safely and effectively operated by personnel during conditions under which the facility is expected to operate during the facilitya??s lifetime.

Abstract

New IEEE Standard - Active.Guidance to prepare, plan, and conduct human factors performance-based validation of a component, sub-system, or system prior to its placement in-service, to assess reasonable confidence of compliance with functional and operational requirements is provided in this document.
