Scope

This standard provides an outline of an inertial measurement unit (IMU) specification document and guidance for tailoring the specification.

Purpose

This standard provides the specifications, typical units, format, and terminology to specify IMUs. This standard allows users to select which specifications are relevant to their particular applications. The terminology is that which is commonly used by the inertial navigation community.
