Full Description

This standard applies to asbestos-cement insulating panels consisting of a core of insulating material sandwiched between and bonded to two asbestos-cement facing sheets. These panels are intended for use as exterior and interior walls, partitions, curtain walls, roof decks and for decorative purposes. The insulating material shall be fibreboard, perlite and wood fibre or plastic-foam cores of polystyrene or urethane.

Building codes and regulations may place restrictions on the use of foamed plastics and in some cases preclude the use for some structures of asbestos-cement sandwich panels having foamed plastic cores.

This standard may require the use of materials and/or equipment that could be hazardous. This document does not purport to address all the safety aspects associated with its use. Anyone using this standard has the responsibility to consult the appropriate authorities and to establish appropriate health and safety practices in conjunction with any existing applicable regulatory requirements prior to its use.
