View Sample Alloy Digest Data Sheet (PDF)
Since 1952, Alloy Digest has been the leading reference for materials property data on metals and alloys used throughout the world. Featuring graphs, charts and tables, these sheets give facts and figures on composition or characterization, physical and mechanical properties, heat treatment, and machinability.
ACI Type CD-4MCu is an iron-chromium-nickel-copper-molybdenum alloy having corrosion resistance in many media superior to that of ACI Types CF-8 and CF-8M cast stainless steels; in addition, Type CD-4MCu has about double the yield strength of the other two alloys. Type CD-4MCu combines good ductility with high hardness and has excellent resistance to environments involving abrasion or erosion corrosion. It also shows exceptional resistance to stress-corrosion cracking in chloride-containing solutions or vapors. Type CD-4MCu is employed usefully in handling both oxidizing and reducing corrodents. Applications include valves and valve parts, impellers and feed screws.
