BS 09/30179097 DC
BS 09/30179097 DC is intended to be applied to safety-related systems that include one or more E/E systems andthat are installed in series production passenger cars with a max gross weight up to 3,5 t. ISO 26262does not address unique E/E systems in special purpose vehicles such as vehicles designed for driverswith disabilities. Systems developed prior to the publication date of ISO 26262 are exempted from thescope.
BS 09/30179097 DC addresses possible hazards caused by malfunctioning behaviour of E/E safety-relatedsystems including interaction of these systems. It does not address hazards as electric shock, fire, smoke, heat, radiation, toxicity, flammability, reactivity, corrosion, release of energy, and similar hazards unlessdirectly caused by malfunctioning behaviour of E/E safety-related systems.
BS 09/30179097 DC does not address the nominal performance of E/E systems, even if dedicated functionalperformance standards exist for these systems (for example active and passive safety systems, brakesystems, ACC).
BS 09/30179097 DC specifies the requirements on product development at the system level. Theseinclude requirements on the initiation of product development at the system level, the specification of thetechnical safety requirements, the technical safety concept, system design, item integration and testing, safety validation, functional safety assessment and product release.
