Full Description

The objective of this research was to investigate the effectiveness of enhanced coagulation, ozonation, and biofiltration in controlling DBP formation in drinking water with a low specific ultraviolet absorbance (SUVA). It is part of a larger study that will also evaluate the same process sequence on water with a high SUVA. The study was conducted on a pilot plant scale, and the variables in the treatment train included the point of ozonation with respect to coagulation, ozone dose required for various disinfection objectives, and pH of coagulation and ozonation.
