This paper discusses a project that included the design and installation of eighteen water levelmonitoring stations and three rainfall stations as required by the water use permit for a publicsupply system in the state of Florida. Data collected from these stations were used to design working parameters forwetland mitigation projects. Comparing the recorded hydrographs during a period of severedrought to typical wetland hydrographs of similar type showed key similarities to the expectedhydroperiods, and allowed for design of acceptable water level ranges for the mitigation projects.As these mitigation projects are implemented, the working water level ranges can be adjusted asneeded to optimize the observed hydroperiod to match the type of wetland hydroperiod.
