Full Description

This powerpoint presentation presents the application of membrane filtration in Japan, including:statistical data (drinking water treatment);monolith ceramic membranes; and, submerged ceramic membranes.Research involved: total organic carbon(TOC) removal by microfiltration (MF) with super-powdered activated carbon (S-PAC) adsorption;geosmin removal by MF with S-PAC adsorption; and, attenuating trans-membrane pressure (TMP) increase by S-PAC addition. Presentation conclusions on the benefits of S-PAC in MF indicate the following:Geosmin removal: 75% dosage cut;TOC removal: 75% dosage cut;slightly better SS particles (turbidity) removal;reduction of TMP rise by larger-size floc formation; and, reduction of TMP rise by natural organic matter (NOM) removal.Demerit?
