Full Description

This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the Santa Ana River Water Quality and Health (SARWQH) Study. Emerging constituents of concern are presented, along with the effectiveness of reverse osmosis (RO) for treatment of endocrine disrupting compounds (EDCs) and pharmaceuticals and personal care products(PhPCPs). The effectiveness of RO and nanofiltration (NF) wasdemonstrated in Camarillo's pilot study. Conclusions indicate that: SARWQH study showed EfOM similar to DOM for otherdrinking water sources and demonstrated increasing DOCremoval with increasing distance from discharge point;of the Note 5 Chemicals measured at Camarillo, onlycarbamazepine showed up in all groundwater sourcesamples; and, rejection of carbamazepine to non-detect levels wasdemonstrated for three different RO/NF membranes. Includes tables.
