Full Description

This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of photocatalytic multi-barrier water purification, including PhotocatalyticAOP+, ultraviolet (UV), and ceramic membranes. River water to potable pilot is presented, including: the pilot process; post Photo-Cat turbidity; test results; and, pilot results, May - August 2008. Relevant points include:unique reactor design provides activetreatment and eliminates UV wipers;operation through storm events;not vulnerable to cold water operation;completely automated, one button to start;pilot run remotely; and, removes EDCs and PPCPs. Economic assessment includes:no membrane replacement cost;no membrane cleaning cost;no oversized membrane costfor cold, fouling, integrity, repair;uses existing pretreatment;smaller, less complicated building;eliminates permanganate;includes automation; and,low electrical demand. Includes tables.
