This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of widespread nitratecontamination vulnerability in the U.S., particularly in Santa Ana, California, and how biological nitrate removal technology would improve the situation. Process fundamentals are presented, along with the reasons for choosing the fixed-bed bioreactor (FXB) option forremoving nitrate from by-pass water. Biodenitrification pilot testing at the Arlington desalter is outlined, along with polishing filtration pilot testing at the Arlington desalter. Includes figures.Cart
