This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the Indio Water Authority (IWA) in the Coachella Valley inRiverside County, California. Project background and purpose include the following: Indio has been supplying water to the community for over 50years, but the IWA was formed in 2001; continued growth without further impact to the overdrafted GWbasin - "Net Zero" impact; assist IWA in understanding water resources and water use inthe Valley; identify viable opportunities to diversify water portfolio,determine "preferred alternatives" - high priority forimplementation; and, efforts culminating with development of an Integrated RegionalWater Management Plan (IRWMP). The project approach is presented, along with Valley water resources key issues, and the key elements of sustainability plan - Integrated Water Resources Development Plan. Includes tables, figures.
