Full Description

This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) and Lake Lavon water quality considerations. A project was initiated towards end of 2006 to deal with the steady decrease of lake storage, the increase of raw water total organic carbon (TOC) by more than 50%, and the increase of disinfection byproducts (DBPs). Drought issues are presented, along with storage allocations for three local lakes. The process selected was chlorine dioxide and options for chlorine dioxide generation systems are presented, along with bench testing, chlorine dioxide design parameters, equipment evaluation, the impact of chlorine dioxide, and future plans include intermediate ozonation. Includes tables, figures.
