Presentation conclusions indicate that: ozone provides a fast, effective method fordisinfecting new or repaired water mains;a "flow-through" disinfection method usingthe "CT concept" is required due to rapidozone decay rate;Denver Water's bacteriological pass rate fornew water main installations is 84-88% for bothozone and chlorine; and, theuse of pressure washing or pre-flushing is acritical step for proper disinfection of watermains.
