Full Description

This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of photocatalysis for water treatment. Adsorbent catalyst supports are presented, along with synthesis of SiOsub2/sub-TiOsub2/sub composites (STC), STC testing and characterization, STC performance testing, and presentation conclusions that indicate the following: STC were created with varying pore sizes andsurface areas;TiOsub2/sub addition decreased specific surface area andpore volume;up to 87% of the TiOsub2/sub was available on thesurface of the STCs;more TiOsub2/sub surface area was available withincreased TiOsub2/sub loading;IEP and band gap energies of the STCs were notlargely affected; and,STC successfully degraded TOC of graywater toless than the 500 ppb limit. Includes tables, figures.
