Full Description

This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the challenge of river basin planning. An example of optimization by the Murray Darling Basin Authority is presented, including project objectives: develop optimization capability for MSM-BIGMODto assist with planning and operations;enable more rapid decisions;maximize the benefits of available river flows; and, transfer of optimization technology and skills toMDBA planners. Approach methodology included the following: Stage 1 - scoping study; Stage 2 - proof-of-concept study; and, Stage 3 - software provision.
