Full Description

This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of Nichols Township in Tioga County, New York, and a project to develop additional water source/supply. Alternatives considered had to meet the following criteria: proximity; water quality; water quantity (150gpm); and, cost. Alternatives included blending, nitrate treatment, emergency interconnection, new well or deeper well at Well 1 and/or 2 sites, and new well at new location. New well assessment is presented, along with the township's Kirby Park, proposed design of building the well within Kirby Park, issues to be addressed, and lessons learned.
