Full Description

This powerpoint presentation begins by presenting project objectives: identify energy recovery opportunitiesat Center Street Generator and CorneliusPass PRV Stations;evaluate alternatives for retrofit orreplacement of new turbines;determine project payback periods; and, evaluate sustainability (COsub2/sub emissionoffset). The evaluation approach included the following:identify evaluation period and future systemchanges;develop hourly flow and pressure projections forevaluation period;capture diurnal and seasonal variabilities; future system growth and changes; calculate generator kW for each hour duringevaluation period;determine project cost and construction/retrofitfeasibility for alternatives; and, compare alternatives - determine project payback period (assume $0.05/kWh), and calculate carbon offset for each alternative (1 kWh = 1 lb COsub2/sub). The analysis approach for the Center Street Generator Station included the following:calculate hourly kW through 2016; and, identify and evaluate alternatives -existing 112 kW turbine (baseline scenario),existing turbine with D/S PRV, orreplacement of existing turbine with Cornell44, 50, 83, and 96 kW turbines (w/ and w/oD/S PRV). Includes figures.
