Full Description

This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of Swiss federal law on drinking water and water quality standards. The trigger for the project was a bacterial contamination event in thewater supply network in 2006, whereorganic material was injected into the network via a firehydrant. Fundamental aspects developed in the framework of theproject included:appropriate distribution of sensors within the water supplynetwork;introduction of the sensors into a self-organized communicationsystem;acquisition and storage of data related to critical water qualityparameters, 24/7; and, automatic transmission of the data to a central server forprocessing.
