This article discusses GreenPlumbers USA, a comprehensiveindustry response to climate changeand water issues, the program isopen to all plumbers, regardless ofaffiliation or association membership.To actually use the GreenPlumber logo and be referred as aGreenPlumber involves completingspecific coursework and signing aseparate licensing agreement. The article discusses the five-course accreditation program that is run by the Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling contractors of California Education Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation. To enhance the technical content of their training and accreditation modules, GreenPlumbers USA recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) to extract provisions contained within IAPMO's Uniform Codes. IAPMO and GreenPlumbers will alsopartner to develop additional programsand services that will advancethe sustainability goals of both organizations.
