Full Description

AWWA Standard J100 describes a simple and easy-to-implement process for identifying, analyzing, and managing risks associated with malevolent attacks and naturally occurring hazards against water and wastewater systems. This process is called Risk Analysis and Management for Critical Asset Protection, or RAMCAP.

RAMCAP helps utilities identify vulnerabilities in their infrastructure, harden security, improve redundant systems, mitigate property damage and injuries from an event, and return service to normal as quickly as possible.

The standard falls under the joint jurisdiction of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and ASME Innovative Technologies Institute, LLC (ASME/ITI). This jurisdiction is exercised by the Joint ASME/ITI/AWWA RAMCAP Standards Committee for Risk and Resilience Management of Water and Wastewater Systems.
